Vincent Allen gained over a thousand yards in each of his four seasons at Indiana State from 1973-77.

He finished his playing career with 4,335 yards, which is still the number-one total in ISU history.

While at Indiana State he lead his team in scoring all four seasons and had 26 games where he ran for over 100 yards, 14 of which were in succession (both ISU records).

His most productive game came in 1973, when he rushed for 205 yards against Southern Illinois.

Allen is also the career leader in scoring with 200 points and 33 touchdowns.

Selected first team All America running back in 1975, the five-foot-nine Allen was forced to the sidelines the next year by a serious knee injury, which required reconstructive surgery.

Though many thought his playing days were over, Allen had another stellar year in 1977 with another 1,000-yard rushing season and was chosen first team All-Missouri Valley Conference.

A unique combination of speed, strength and shiftiness, the Richmond, Indiana, product played in the Canadian Football League with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in 1978.
