  • Named Head of Equipment in 1983
  • Truly one of the tireless workers in the Sycamore Athletics Department, who retired after completing his 39th season with the football program.
  • He ran one of the best equipment rooms in all of college football, and many of his former students and graduate assistant equipment managers have moved on to manage equipment operations throughout the country.
  • Some of Elson's former workers now run or have run the equipment operations for several major college football programs as well as NFL teams such as the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • A native of Brazil, Ind., Elson graduated from Brazil High School in 1966. Following a three-year stint in the U.S. Army, Elson received his bachelor's degree in sociology from ISU in 1973.
