The excitable tones of "Forbsey" were heard on the Terre Haute airwaves since the days he was a student at Indiana State. He first went to work for WTHI radio in 1948 and at the time of his induction was Sports Director for WTHI television.

A graduate of Wiley High School where he was the football quarterback, he entered Indiana State and soon found his way to the broadcasting industry.  He started while a student and continued after graduation from ISU in 1950.

During his time as the "Voice of the Sycamores" Bob broadcast numerous championship events for the Sycamores and several outstanding games.  The 1979 overtime win against New Mexico, in which Bob Heaton hit his "miracle" shot, was broadcast live by the Armed Forces Radio Network.

A goodwill ambassador for Indiana State and its athletic department, Bob cheered on the Sycamores through thick and thin.  In addition to  his broadcasting duties, he  worked for Moore-Langen Printing Company.
