Chris Lancaster became Indiana State's first NCAA track & field champion when he captured the 110-meter hurdles at the 1990 NCAA Outdoor Championships.  During his career as a student-athlete (1986-90), Lancaster set the Missouri Valley Conference and Indiana State record in the 100-meter hurdles (13.45), as well as setting school marks in the 55-meter hurdles (7.17) and the 400-meter hurdles (50.08). 

A three-time Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Champion in the 55-meter hurdles (1986, 1987, 1988), Lancaster also earned six MVC Outdoor titles in the 110-meter hurdles (1986, 1988, 1990) and the 400-meter hurdles (1987, 1988, 1990).  A NCAA Indoor all-America in 1990, he also earned Outdoor all-America honors in the 110-meter hurdles (1988, 1990) and was the 1990 Outdoor 110-meter hurdle Champion.
