Mike Lane was an Indiana State swimming and diving standout from 1962-65. He won the 1965 NAIA 3-Meter Diving National Championship.
 
Following his Sycamore career, Lane became one of the best high school swimming coaches in Michigan High School history. Lane’s teams won 15 Michigan High School State Championships during his 34-year career. He coached 124 high school All-Americans, was named to the Michigan High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 1992, and was inducted into the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Hall of Fame in 1998.
 
Lane has retired from teaching and coaching and currently administers the Private Family Foundation which funds scholarships for college-bound students.
