Indiana State University Athletics

Lenny Rzeszewski was one of the finest basketball players ever produced by Indiana State, holding several school records until Larry Bird came on the ISU sports scene.  Playing for legendary coach John Wooden and John Longfellow following that, Lenny was a four-year letter winner who played on three teams which advanced to the NAIB finals in Kansas City.
 
After near misses at the title in 1948 and 1949, Rzeszewski was named the "Most Valuable Player" as Indiana State captured the title in 1950, defeating Eastern Central Oklahoma in the finals. ISU had lost to Louisville in the finals in 1948 and Regis College in the semi-finals in '49.
 
Rzeszewski was inducted into the NAIB Hall of Fame for his accomplishments.
