Charles Bush, a Distinguished Alumni Award winner from Indiana State in 1970, is a former football, basketball, and baseball standout.  He graduated from ISU in 1937.

Bush was an outstanding athlete, twice winning Indiana All-State honors while at Indiana State. After graduation he played professional football with Pittsburgh and semi-pro baseball in Indiana.

A former superintendent of schools in Marshall, Illinois, he has devoted his entire career to the advancement of education and athletics.  He coached all sports and taught social studies at Marshall long before being named superintendent in 1952.

Bush holds a B. S. and M. S. degrees from Indiana State and has served as president of the ISU Alumni Association, the ISU Varsity Club, and the ISU Alumni Club of South Central Illinois and has organized alumni groups in Florida.
