BURLINGTON, Iowa -- The Indiana State women's golf team is tied for eighth place in the 15 team field of the MVC Fall Preview, hosted by Northern Iowa. The tournament is being held at the Spirit Hollow Golf Club which is a par-72, 6,256-yard layout.

Sophomore Lauren Green leads the way for the Sycamores with rounds of 77 and 81 for a total of 159 which is tied for 17th place. Sierra Hargens, returning to her home state of Iowa, rebounded from an opening round of 83 in the morning to post a 78 in the evening for a total of 161 which is tied for 36th place. Kayla Ryan tallied rounds of 80 and 81 for the same total of 161 which is also tied for 36th place.

Freshman Kristen Hobbs fired rounds of 83 and 84 for a total of 167 which is tied for 61st place. Alex Jennings carded a round of 90 in the morning but came back with a round of 81 in the evening and her total of 171 is tied for 73rd place.

Playing as individuals, Madison Branum posted rounds of 90 and 88 for a total of 178 which tied for 84th place while Chelsea Morrow is making her Sycamore debut and posted rounds of 91 and 94 for a total of 185 which is for 89th place.

The Sycamores talled rounds of 323 and 321 for a total of 644 which is tied for 8th place with Bradley and Illinois State. ISU is seven shots ahead of Western Illinois and Omaha for 11th place and also lead Evansville, Valparaiso and Loyola from the MVC. Among the MVC playing schools, the Sycamores are tied for 5th place on the course where the league championship will be held in April of 2020.

The host Northern Iowa carded rounds of 308 and 313 for a total of 621 to lead the way. Missouri State's scores of 312 and 316 put them at 628 in second place. ISU trails former league member Creighton by two shots for seventh place and are within just six shots of a Top 5 finish at the event.
