Four Sycamore golfers named as WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Four Indiana State women's golfers were named to the 2025 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, announced on Monday.

Rising seniors Eliza Baker and Yang Tai and rising juniors Rosalie DiNunzio and Sophia Florek were the four who earned the award. This is the second-straight year making the team for Baker, Tai, and Florek after earning it in 2024.

Criteria for making the team are as follows:
  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

Baker dipped into the 70s twice in the spring for her season-low, shooting a 77 in both the PFW Hammock Beach Invitational and the Indiana State University Spring Invite.

Tai finished the season with the lowest stroke average out of all Sycamores with a 76.36, missing only one tournament for an academic conference. She won her first collegiate individual tournament at the Braun Intercollegiate, leading the Sycamores to their first team win of the season. Tai was the lowest finisher for the Trees in the 2025 MVC Championships and was named a recipient of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Spring Award.

DiNunzio had five top 25 finishes this season and carded a new collegiate low of 72. Her lowest individual finish (T4) at the PFW Hammock Beach Invitational helped lead the Sycamores to their second team victory of the season.

Florek had the third-lowest stroke average on the season for Indiana State. Like fellow classmate DiNunzio, Florek helped the Sycamores to the PFW victory with her lowest finish, tying for third place. Later in the season, she tied for the team's low round of the season with a 71 at the Indiana State University Spring Invitational. At the 2025 MVC Championship, Florek was one of three golfers to card an eagle.

The 2025-26 fall season tees off on September 7 in Normal, Ill. for the Redbird Invitational.
