TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State divers will be heading to Evansville, Ind. this week for the Evansville Regional Sports Commission Diving Invite over December 16-17, held at the USI Aquatic Center.
The Sycamores will compete in both the 3M Springboard and the 1M Springboard events over the two days with the 3M starting on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. ET, while the 1M will begin on Wednesday morning at the same time.
Indiana State joins the divers from Southern Indiana, Illinois State, and Evansville for the Invite in the final competition of the 2025 calendar year.
Jecza Lopez continues to headline the Sycamores divers on the season as the reigning MVC Diver of the Year has posted the top scores in the conference in both the 1M and 3M events. Lopez set the Indiana State school record in the 3M event earlier this season with a six-dive score of 315.75 against Illinois and Vanderbilt, while her top 1M score of 287.40 came earlier at the Miami Invitational.
Freshman
Bree Cleary has also posted a pair of top 10 scores on the MVC Performance List this season, totaling 242.62 points in the meet against Illinois and Vanderbilt in the 1M event, while her 3M score of 241.65 in the same meet puts her ninth in the Valley.
The Sycamores have three additional athletes in the top 15 in the Valley in the 1M event with
Brenna Woodruff (232.73),
Ella Taylor (223.05), and
Sofia Dansereau (222.08) all recording their top scores against Toledo. Dansereau's score of 226.50 in the 3M Springboard is the 15th-best mark in the Valley, while Woodruff (218.40) is also top 20.
Ella Taylor posted a 156.23 in the same Toledo meet for her season-high mark.
