ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Six Indiana State swimming & diving student-athletes were honored on the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.
The Missouri Valley Conference had 54 student-athletes on the scholar-athlete team this season, including 10 athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs, including 2026 MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Molly Kroeger from UIC.
The criteria for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team voting parallels the CSC (College Sports Communicators) standards for Academic All-America nominations. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, both as an undergraduate and graduate student, where applicable. If a GPA has not been established as a transfer student, the cumulative GPA from the nominees' previous institution must be used. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing. Redshirt freshmen are not eligible. Eligible nominees must compete in at least four competitions OR finish in the top-eight individually at the Conference championship or be a member of a top-three relay team at the event.

Indiana State recorded its second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championship after topping the field two weeks ago at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind. The Sycamores totaled 1,236 points across the four-day meet to hold off Southern Illinois (1,161) and Missouri State (1,117) for the title.
Overall, Indiana State featured four individual title winners at the meet with
Grace Cummings (500 Free, 1650 Free),
Ali Pearson (100 Breast), and
Jecza Lopez (1M Springboard) all recording titles. The Sycamores also topped the field in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
Indiana State also placed 10 athletes on the MVC All-Conference First Team, with an additional 10 earning Honorable Mention over the four days in the water with Asplund, Boles, Cummings,
Haley Halsall, Kelley, Lopez, Parsons, Pearson, Riebeling,
Sahara Visscher, Agapios, Cummins,
Sophia Diaz, and Johnson all garnering postseason accolades.
