COLUMBIA, Mo. – Indiana State Swimming & Diving sits in fourth place after the 200 freestyle relay team broke the school record in finals on day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Wednesday.
The Sycamores sit in fourth with 183.5 points after day one, trailing Missouri State (309.5), Southern Illinois (214), and Illinois State (185). Behind ISU is Northern Iowa (172), Evansville (110), Little Rock (83), and Valparaiso (71).

Senior
Alex Malmborg earned All-MVC Honors in the 50 freestyle for the second year in a row placing third with a time of 23.33.
Marlene Pavlu Lewin placed fifth overall in the event posting a time of 23.47 earning her honorable mention respectively.
Kaimi Matsumoto touched the wall with a third best time in program history at 23.70
In the 200 individual medley,
Megan Schade placed 13
th overall scoring for the Sycamores with the third best program time of 2:06.37.
Colleen O'Connor posted a fourth best program time of 2:06.42 respectively.
The 200 freestyle relay team of

Kaimi Matsumoto, and
Ashleigh Sinks broke the school record earning second overall with a time of 1:32.69.
Indiana State divers,
Keara Shelton and Britney Meienberg placed 15
th and 16
th in the 1 meter finals making program history, with two divers scoring in the finals for the first time.
Coach Christensen's Corner
"We started a little rocky this morning, but came back a lot stronger tonight," said head coach
Josh Christensen. "Once again, the highlight was a school record in a relay. Our 200 free relay had a great swim and brought it down the wire, for a runner up finish. We just want to keep getting better as the meet goes on. We had a lot of big opportunities tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing us take advantage of them."
