Indiana State heads to Carbondale to open the 2026 spring slate

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State swimming and diving opens the 2026 spring portion of the calendar as the Sycamores head to Carbondale, Ill. and Shea Natatorium to take on the Southern Illinois Salukis in a dual meet. Events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET with results to be posted on MeetMobile.
 
"We're looking forward to getting back into racing this this weekend," said head coach Josh Christensen. "SIU is a very talented team and always great competition. This meet will provide a big challenge and an opportunity to continue to hone our racing and competition skills as we head towards conference."

The Sycamores return to the pool as a team for the first time since hosting Toledo back on December 6 for Senior Day at the Vigo County Aquatic Center. Indiana State won 14 of the 16 events against the visiting Rockets highlighted by senior Haley Halsall setting a new Sycamore record in the 200-yard Fly event to highlight the 229-68 victory.
 
Halsall became the first Indiana State swimmer to break the 2:00 mark in the event in program history with her time of 1:59.73 taking down the Sycamores' fourth record of the season. Claire Parsons (500 Free) and Grace Cummings (1650 Free) both took down school records at the Miami Invitational, while Jecza Lopez broke the 3M Diving mark (315.75) earlier this season against Illinois and Vanderbilt continuing a recent trend of Indiana State successes in the pool.
 
Indiana State highlighted the meet with the Rockets with Grace Cummings (500-, 1000 Free), Erin Cummins (200 Free), Kate Reeves (100 Back), Ali Pearson (100, 200 Breast), Kaleigh Kelley (50 Free), Raine Boles (100 Fly), Jecza Lopez (1M, 3M Diving), and Maria Saldana Riebeling (200 IM) all claiming individual event wins. The Sycamores also topped the Rockets in both the 200-yard Medley Relay and 400-yard Freestyle Relay.
 
Boles, Cummins, Addison Johnson, Parsons, Kalli Agapios, Cummings, Dilks, Sara Keefe, Kate Reeves, Jenna Nave, Anna Asplund, and Sophia Diaz have all improved on their times with new appearances inside the Indiana State Top 10 Performance Lists in the swimming events. Lopez, Bree Cleary, Brenna Woodruff, Ella Taylor, and Sophia Dansereau have all improved on their scores in the diving events this season.
