EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Jecza Lopez topped the field in the 1M Springboard Diving event on Tuesday as the Sycamore diving team competed on the opening day of the Evansville Regional Sports Commission Diving Invite.
 
Lopez topped the prelims field and then completed the sweep in the afternoon finals in leading three Sycamores who finished inside the top eight overall. All five Sycamore divers finished inside the top 10 in the field on Tuesday.
 
Afternoon Finals
Jecza Lopez completed the diving sweep on Tuesday afternoon as the Guadalajara, Mexico native took the 1M Springboard finals with a score of 250.30 to top Southern Indiana's Anna Bunnell (247.05). Lopez's high mark came on her fourth attempt with a score of 45.60 on an Inward 1 ½ Somersault Pike. She posted five scores of 40-plus points in the finals.
 
Brenna Woodruff placed sixth overall in the field with a score of 206.00, while Sofia Dansereau was eighth in 203.90. Woodruff posted her highest mark on her opening dive, an Inward 1 ½ Somersault Tuck, to post a 39.60. Dansereau's best mark, a 38.40, came on her fifth attempt as she completed an Inward 1 ½ Somersault Pike.

Morning Prelims
Jecza Lopez topped the field in the 1M Springboard diving prelims as the junior posted a six-dive score of 275.35 to advance to the afternoon's finals. She was joined in the finals by teammates Brenna Woodruff (207.20) and Sofia Dansereau (202.95) as the trio all finished inside the top eight in the field.
 
Lopez posted a high score of 50.70 on her first dive of the morning session with a Forward 2 ½ Somersault Pike to seize control of the prelims early. Woodruff also posted her highest score of a 39.60 on an Inward 1 ½ Somersault Tuck on her opening dive, while Dansereau's high score of 37.80 came on her third dive, a Reverse 1 ½ Somersault Tuck.
 
Bree Cleary finished ninth overall in the field with a six-dive score of 192.20, while Ella Taylor wrapped up the top 10 in 187.75. Cleary's high mark came on her third dive, a Forward 1 ½ Somersault 1 Twist Free with a score of 35.20. Taylor's best, a 35.65, came on her second dive as she completed a Forward 2 Somersault Pike.
