LONDON, England – Indiana State freshman Grace Cummings continued her 2026 season with a strong showing at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships held over April 14-19 at the London Aquatics Centre.
 
The 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships will play a pivotal role for swimmers eyeing up both the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and a return to the Paris 2024 Olympics Aquatics Centre for the European Aquatics Championships.
 
Cummings set new Indiana State records in the 1500-meter, 400-meter, and the 800-meter races over her time in London to highlight a continuing strong campaign by the Kent, England native.
 
Cummings opened up her time at the Swimming Championships with the 1500-meter race as the freshman posted a time of 16:41.66 to place fifth overall in the event. She was seventh in the field through the first 1000 meters with a time of 11:07.43, before surging into fifth over the next 150 meters on her way to the top five finish in the race.
 
Cummings continued her time at the London Aquatics Centre with the 400-meter race posting a time of 4:21.57 to place 18th overall in the field. Cummings went out in 1:02.16 over the first 100 meters and closed out with a time of 1:06.21 over the final 100 to wrap up the morning session and advance to the B-Finals.
 
In the B-Finals race, Cummings shaved nearly a full second off her time to place seventh in the field with a time of 4:20.63. She went out 1:01.69 over the first 100, before closing out the final 1:06.19 to place 17th overall in the event.
 
Cummings wrapped up the week in the 800-meter race as the Indiana State freshman topped the field in the morning session with a time of 8:51.91. Cummings went out in 1:03.21 and led the way at the 400-meter mark with a time of 4:24.83. She held off the field winning the morning session by nearly five full seconds.
 
Her time was ninth overall in the field following the evening's final heat to wrap up her competition slate at the Aquatics GB.
