2020/21 - Earned MVC Honorable Mention in three events at the MVC Championships in the 100 free (52.43), the 100 fly (56.19) and the 200 IM (2:05.13) ... Her time of 2:03.99 in the 200 IM holds the third sport all time in the ISU record books ... Was a member of the 400 medley relay team who broke the school record with a time of 3:44.40 at the MVC Championships
2019/20 - Earned First Team All-MVC honors behind a third place finish in the 100 fly with a personal best time of 55.45 ranking her second in program history ... Raced a personal best time of 51.73 in the 100 free ranking third in program history ... Matsumoto is also third overall in program history in the 50 free with a time of 23.70 ... Was on the 200 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley relay teams who broke school records at the MVC Championships
Personal- Kaimi Matsumoto comes to Indiana State from all the way from Wailuku, Hawaii where she attended Baldwin High School. She was named the Baldwin MVP for swimming during her junior and senior years and holds three Maui Interscholastic League records. During her junior year she claimed the state championship in the 200 IM and she was a member of four MIL championship teams. She also swam for the Maui Swim Club during her high school tenure and won the Ken Suenaga Invitational Award three years in a row, was named a state champion, won the Sakamoto Invitational Award three years in a row and earned the True Grit Award.
