TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's swimming & diving's Jecza Lopez was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Lopez swept the preliminary and final rounds in both the 1M Springboard and 3M Springboard diving events at the Evansville Regional Sports Commission Diving Invite held over the past week at the USI Aquatic Center.
 
Lopez opened the week sweeping the 1M Springboard Diving event on Tuesday as the junior held off the field with a six-dive score of 250.30 to win the finals. She was the top overall seed following the early prelims with a score of 275.35.
 
The Guadalajara, Mexico native followed up the following day leading three Sycamores inside the top four finalists in the 3M Springboard Diving event to wrap up the meet. She posted a 288.70 in the finals to win the event by 53.1 points, following her prelim score of 277.10.
 
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
