EVANSVILLE, IND. – Indiana State dominated on Saturday defeating Evansville and Little Rock. The blue and white placed first in all 14 swimming events.
 
The Sycamores topped the Purple Aces by a final score of 233-77 and the Trojans 240-56.
 
 
Surging Sycamores
12 Sycamores earned individual victories at the conference double-dual meet, and four of them claiming multiple victories.
 
Greece-native Anna Maria Nasiou took first place in both breaststroke events for the second consecutive time on Saturday. Nasiou posted a time of 1:08.10 in the 100 breaststroke and a time of 2:26.26 in the 200 breaststroke.
 
Freshman Kaimi Matsumoto claimed two victories in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.54 and the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.62.
 
Senior Kendall Hansen also won two events posting a time of 56.89 in the 100 backstroke and a time of 2:04.90 in the 200 backstroke.
 
Freshman Margaret Gray also claimed two victories in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.78 while also winning the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.65.
 
Britney Meienburg place third in the 1 meter dive with a score of 203.40 while Sophomore Keara Shelton claimed third in the 3 meter dive with a score of 213.55.
 
Christensen's Corner
"I was really proud of our effort, focus, and execution today," Head Coach Josh Christensen said. "We had a lot of high-quality swims from across the team. I saw a lot of corrections being made from our first couple of meets, which was one of our goals coming into the meet.
 
We're going to need to continue to keep working and improving from here. Next weekend we face two tough teams in Xavier and Illinois State. We'll need everyone to step up and perform well in those meets."

Indiana State will host Xavier University on Friday Nov. 8 at 6pm in the Vigo County Aquatic Center. They will then hit the road the next day to compete against Illinois State starting at 1pm on Saturday Nov. 9.
