The Indiana State women's golf team will participate in their third tournament of the fall when they travel to the Butler Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, October 7 & 8. The tournament will be held at the Highland Golf Club, which is a par-70, 5,860-yard layout.
Joining the Sycamores in the tournament will be host Butler, Chicago State, Evansville, Indiana, Lipscomb, Loyola (Chicago), Marian and Western Illinois.
Indiana State is coming off an eighth place finish at the 15-team Missouri Valley Conference Fall Preview. The Sycamores finished in a tie for eighth place with score of 323 and 321 on Monday which was followed by a round of 323 on Tuesday. Their team score of 967 matched that of former MVC member Creighton for eighth place. Indiana State edged out Green by a stroke with a score of 968 while Western Illinois was 11
th at 975. Omaha finished in 12
th place with score of 962, Evansville was 13
th at 990, Valparaiso finished 14
th with a score of 997 and Loyola rounded out the field with a score of 1,023.
FreshmanÂ
Lauren Green posted rounds of 77 and 81 on Monday and followed that with a team-best 75 on Tuesday for a total of 233 – her career-best for 54 holes – and her best-ever finish in a collegiate tournament as she tied for fifth place.
The 54-hole tournament will be played in two rounds on Monday with a shotgun start at 9 am (ET) and continue with the third and final round on Tuesday – also with a shotgun start at 9 am (ET).
