EVANSVILLE, Ind. --Â Sophomore
Lauren Green recorded her fourth consecutive top five individual finish and the Sycamores were fifth overall after the only round of the weather-shortened Charles Braun Intercollegiate on Tuesday, October 22. The event was held at the Oak Meadow Country Club which is a par-72, 6,032-yard layout.
Green fired a round of 77 which was tied for fifth place in the individual race. It marked the fourth consecutive tournament that she has finished at least in fifth place or higher.
Overall, the Sycamores carded a round of 322 which was fifth in the team race. IUPUI won the event with a score of 313 while Loyola and Green Bay tied for second with marks of 314. Butler finished fourth in the event with a card of 317 while the Sycamores were fifth at 322. Indiana State just edged Valparaiso who finished in sixth place with a score of 324 while Southern Illinois was seventh at 327. Host Evansville finished eighth with a score of 329. Illinois-Chicago and Northern Kentucky tied for ninth place with rounds of 331 while Tennessee State (340) and Eastern Illinois (358) completed the field.
Sierra Hargens tied for 16th place with a round of 80 while
Kayla Ryan's card of 81 was tied for 22nd.
Alex Jennings posted a score of 84 which was tied for 41st place. Freshman
Kristen Hobbs owned a score of 88 which was tied for 59th. Playing as individuals,
Madison Branum was tied for 51st place with a score of 86 while
Chelsea Morrow had the exact same score.
There was three way tie for medalist honors as Loyola's Sabrina Hoskins, Butler's Ally Ross and IUPUI's Marion DeBove each fired off rounds of 75.Â
This tournament concludes Indiana State's fall season and will be back in action on March 1-3 at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
