ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Twelve conference softball student-athletes have been named to the 2012 MVC Scholar-Athlete first team, including four repeat selections, as voted on by the league's softball sports information directors and announced by the Missouri Valley Conference office today with senior Alyssa Doyle and junior Halee Myers being named honorable Mention.

Doyle recently graduated from Indiana State with a 3.97 GPA in Elementary Education. During the 2012 season she primarily played outfield and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on the season. Doyle was also a member of the Dean's List Fall 2008-spring 2012, National Fast pitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete 2009-10 and 2010-2011, Indiana State University Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award Nominee 2011 and 2012 and Indiana State University All-Academic Team 2011 and 2012.

Myers recently finished her junior season at Indiana State and carries a 3.9178 GPA in Elementary Education. Myers primarily played outfield for the Sycamores and held a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on the season. Myers is also a member of the Dean's List Fall 2009-Present,Treasurer of SAAC and organizes all softball community service.

In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have at 3.2 GPA or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.
