CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Indiana State closed its 2026 season on Saturday afternoon at UNI, competing through all seven innings and generating multiple scoring opportunities in a 5–2 finale at Robinson-Dresser. The Sycamores produced six hits and continued to show the resilience and energy that defined their late-season push. 

Indiana State struck first in the third inning after Bella Pusateri singled, stole third, and came home on a Madison Poulson RBI single to center. The Sycamores added another run in the seventh when Emi Jeras delivered a solo home run to right field, her first of the season, pulling ISU within striking distance in the final frame. 

Pusateri led the offense with two hits, while Welch, Jeras, Poulson, and Connelly each added one. Indiana State put runners aboard in five different innings and continued to apply pressure with aggressive baserunning and competitive at-bats. 

In the circle, Megan Asher and Lauren Sackett combined to hold UNI to seven hits while working through several tight spots. Asher recorded multiple clean innings, and Sackett entered in relief to retire four of the five batters she faced, helping keep the Sycamores within reach throughout the afternoon. 

Defensively, Indiana State closed the season with several strong moments in the field, including a first-inning double play and multiple solid reads in the outfield that helped limit UNI's extra-base damage. The Sycamores continued to compete on every ball put in play and finished the finale with steady infield work and composed late-inning execution.

Indiana State finishes the 2026 season with a roster that continued to grow in the final weeks, highlighted by back-to-back walk-off wins against Drake, an 11-inning shutout victory, and a competitive showing throughout the UNI series. The Sycamores carried momentum, toughness, and steady improvement into the final weekend, setting the stage for continued progress moving forward.

• Indiana State – Poulson singled to center, scoring Pusateri (3rd, 1–0).  

• UNI – Netten homered to right center, 2 RBI (3rd, 2–1).  

• UNI – Smith homered to left, 2 RBI (4th, 4–1).  

• UNI – Lappe grounded out to 2b, RBI (5th, 5–1).  

• Indiana State – Jeras homered to right (7th, 5–2).
