Jones named Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athletes of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's track & field's Trent Jones was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athletes of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.

Trent Jones produced the best weekend of his indoor career at Arkansas' Tyson Invitational. Competing against some of the top talent in the nation in Fayetteville, including seven of the top 50 400m sprinters in the nation this season, Jones clocked an indoor career-best time of 47.52 in the 400m. The career-best effort moved him up to third in program history in the event, just ahead of teammate Ivan Weaver, while marking the top time in the event by a Sycamore since 2007.

Jones also ran one of the legs in Indiana State's season-best 4x400m relay. The Sycamores' relay time of 3:13.79 ranked sixth in program history. The senior has now been a part of three different program top-10 4x400m relay teams in his career.

The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
