NEW ORLEANS – Indiana State track and field's longstanding tradition of excellence in competition and the classroom was recognized by the USTFCCCA, as the Sycamore men's and women's track and field teams were named All-Academic Teams for the 2025-26 season.
In addition to the team accomplishments, 13 Sycamores were selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams.
The Sycamore men received the team academic honor after posting a 3.24 cumulative team GPA through the spring 2026 semester, while Indiana State's women's team was recognized for its 3.56 cumulative team GPA through the spring 2026 semester..
The 2025-26 season marked the 24th time that Indiana State was named a USTFCCCA Women's Track and Field All-Academic Team, including each of the last 11 seasons, while the Sycamores earned USTFCCCA Men's Track and Field All-Academic Team recognition for the 15th time in program history and 10th consecutive season. To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Rachel Mehringer earned her third All-Academic accolade while
Sloan Cox,
Collin Forrest and
Aliseonna Garnett received All-Academic honorees for the second time in their careers. Nine Sycamores –

Kieran Barnewall,
Nick Burns,
Caden Emmert,
Amy Luttrell,
Jaden Smith,
Cora Williams,
Xavier Wills and
Emma Yoder – were named All-Academic Athletes for the first time in their careers.
To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Athletes must have completed at least two semesters at their current institution, finished the season ranked in the top 96 of any championship event or top 48 in a championship relay event during indoor season, or be ranked in the top 48 in an individual event in the East or West or participate in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships during outdoor season.
The All-Academic recognition for the Sycamores follows a season in which 12 Indiana State athletes – Burns,
Brittney Burak, Cox, Garnett,
Trent Jones, Luttrell,
Olivia Marshall, Mehringer,
Zenon Rule, Wills, Yoder and
Ryan York – garnered CSC Academic All-District honors. Indiana State also had an MVC-leading 20 athletes on the conference's Scholar-Athlete Team, with those being Burns, Burak, Cox, Emmert, Garnett,
Noah Gilmore,
Ellie Irwin,
Essence Johnson, Jones,
Kyler Kidd, Luttrell, Marshall, Mehringer,
Halle Miller,
Dan O'Laughlin,
Campbell Roberts, Rule, Wills, Yoder and York.
Athletes who earned Academic All-District or MVC Scholar-Athlete Team accolades must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while also earning top-50 region rankings in track and field or earning all-region honors in cross country.
