JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Indiana State wrapped up its first day of competition at the NCAA East First Round Wednesday, waiting out more than four hours of weather delays and multiple schedule adjustments to complete its opening day of competition.
Kilan Macklin opened the day for the Sycamores in the long jump, with his mark of 7.05m (23-1.75) placing him 40th in the field, two spots ahead of where he was seeded. Following Macklin's flight of the long jump, inclement weather in the area delayed competition by more than four hours, with the shot put and pole vault both being rescheduled for Thursday.
Terrance O'Bannon and
Casey Hood Jr. had the top results for the Blue and White on the track, with the Sycamore sprint duo clocking 100m times of 10.41 and 10.48, respectively. O'Bannon missed on advancing by a mere one-thousandth of a second and placed 27th, more than 10 spots ahead of his seed time, while Hood Jr. finished 34th.
Also on the track,
Collin Forrest wrapped up his season in the 110m hurdles Wednesday night by running a time of 14.55 to finish 44th.
Following multiple schedule changes to the competition, Thursday's action will now begin at 8 a.m. with the hammer throw. A full list of Indiana State's results from Wednesday and updated schedule for Thursday can be found below.
