Lopez wraps up first day in the 3M Springboard Preliminaries at the NCAA Zone C Qualifiers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Indiana State's Jecza Lopez took on the field on Monday afternoon at the NCAA Zone C Qualifiers as the sophomore competed in the event's 3M Springboard Diving preliminaries.
 
Lopez finished 27th overall in the field with a six-dive score of 257.30 averaging 42.88 points per attempt on the afternoon. The result was two spots higher than her finish at the NCAA Zones last season when the Guadalajara, Mexico native competed for East Carolina.
 
Lopez's highest mark of the afternoon came on her third dive as she posted a 47.60 for her 107C Forward 3 ½ Somersault Tuck dive. She added a 46.50-point dive for her 405B Inward 2 ½ Somersault Pike, and eclipsed the 40-point mark on five of her six attempts.
 
Lopez will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as the sophomore takes on the field in the 1M Springboard Diving preliminary rounds held at the McCorkle Aquatics Center. First dives are expected to begin at 1 p.m.
