TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State swimming and diving close out the 2024-25 regular season this Friday as the Sycamores welcome Butler and Ball State to the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Friday, February 7, for Senior Day.
 
Senior Day festivities will start at 6:40 p.m. with on deck recognition of the Indiana State 2025 Senior Class as Dorotea Bukvic, Trista Bullock, Alexandria Cotter, Olivia Diruzza, Chloe Farro, Daniela Orta Castaneda, Rose Parsons, Ali Pearson, and Alexa Szadorski will all be honored prior to the meet. Events in the pool are set to start at 7 p.m.
 
"Senior Day is always special, so we're very excited to honor the Class of 2025 and close out our dual meet schedule on Friday," head coach Josh Christensen said. "This will also be our last chance to work on race and meet execution in a competition setting before conference. We'll be looking to fine-tune race strategies and details."
 
The Sycamores are back in action after the Tim Welsh Classic held two weeks ago in the Rolfs Aquatic Center. Claire Parsons (200 Free & 1650 Free), Haley Halsall (1650 Free) and Jecza Lopez (1M & 3M Diving) all posted top five finishes for Indiana State at the annual meet held by Notre Dame as the Sycamores battled the field in South Bend. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay team of Chloe Farro, Sahara Visscher, Alexa Szadorski, and Kaleigh Kelley also finished among the top five teams in the event in posting one of the fastest times in school history.
 
Although no Indiana State records fell at the meet, the Sycamore record book saw a shift with nine entries in the program's all-time performance list, including four slots in the relays. Overall, there were 30 new entries in the Indiana State All-Time Event Bests lists at the meet as the Sycamores continue to progress looking ahead to the MVC Championships at the end of the month.
 
Indiana State enters the weekend with 10 MVC Swimmer, Freshman, or Diver of the Week honors to date over the course of the season. Farro (twice), Kelley, and Claire Parsons have all claimed Swimmer of the Week honors, while Maria Saldana Riebeling, Sahara Visscher, and Gemma Dilks (twice) have won Freshman of the Week. Daniela Orta Castaneda and Lopez added Indiana State's Diver of the Week nods to round out the deep roster the Sycamores bring to the field.
 
Indiana State boasts a number of athletes that sit among the conference Top 10 leaders in multiple events through their first two meets of the regular season including conference leaders Erin Cummins (500 Free), Claire Parsons (1000 & 1650 Free) and Gemma Dilks (200 Fly). The Sycamores also boast the fastest time in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay.
