WAUKEE, Iowa – Alexandria Cotter and
Claire Parsons both won individual titles highlighting a day that featured five school records going down as Indiana State closed out the third day of the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday evening.
Cotter claimed the 400-yard IM title for the first time in her collegiate career, while Parsons came storming back through the field to win the 200-yard Freestyle title to claim Indiana State's second and third championships of the conference meet.
Sahara Visscher was on the podium for the third time (first as an individual) in the 100-yard Backstroke, while
Ali Pearson and the Indiana State 200-yard Freestyle Relay team also set new school marks in the evening.
Indiana State (903.5) currently trails Southern Illinois (913.5) heading into the final day with 3M Diving scores still not counted. Missouri State (689) rounds out the top three teams heading into Saturday's finals.
Friday Evening Finals
Alexandria Cotter (400 IM) and
Claire Parsons (200 Free) both claimed individual championships highlighting four Indiana State school records that were set over Friday evening's event schedule. Cotter claimed her first individual title going 4:17.87 to claim the 400 IM, while Parsons went 1:47.83 in the 200-yard Freestyle for her second career title and first in the 2025 MVC Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Sycamores opened up the day with
Raine Boles going 54.67 in the 100-yard Fly on her way to finishing eighth overall in the A-Final.
Sophia Diaz (54.94) and
Kaleigh Kelley (55.44) highlighted Indiana State's efforts in the B-Finals, while
Raz Harel finished sixth overall in the C-Final in 56.42.
Cotter claimed her first individual title in the 400-yard IM as the senior dropped nearly a second off her time from last year's championships to take the win in 4:17.87.
Gemma Dilks finished sixth in 4:22.78, while
Maria Saldana Riebeling (4:23.87) and
Dorotea Bukvic (4:30.52) rounded out the A-Final.
Ella Moustgaard took on the field in the B-Final going 4:35.14.
Parsons followed Cotter's win by storming back in the field to claim the 200-yard Freestyle win in the next event as the sophomore set a new Indiana State record going 1:47.83.
Erin Cummins was fifth in 1:49.02 in the A-Finals.
Chloe Farro (1:51.09) and
Peyton Heagy (1:51.28) took on the field in the B-Final.
Ali Pearson broke her 100-yard Breaststroke mark for the second time on the day as the senior went 1:01.34 in the A-Final to place fourth overall.
Alexa Szadorski was seventh in 1:02.39.
Sahara Visscher was back on the podium on Friday night as the freshman finished third overall in the A-Final of the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 54.97.
Trista Bullock (56.11) and
Kalli Agapios (57.44) took on the field in the B-Final, while
Raz Harel (58.13) highlighted the Sycamores in the C-Final.
Daniela Orta Castaneda and
Lucia McDougall took on the field in the 3M Springboard Diving Consolation Bracket after advancing following the morning's prelims. Orta Castaneda finished sixth in 226.40, while McDougall finished one spot back with a six-dive score of 223.40.
The Sycamores wrapped up the day with a school-record mark in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay as

Chloe Farro,
Raine Boles, and
Alexa Szadorski, went out in 1:30.81 to place .07 behind Northern Iowa (1:30.74) in finishing second. The B-Group of Allie Barasch, Ash Saple,
Olivia Diruzza, and
Kate Reeves finished in 1:37.26.

Friday Morning Prelims
Indiana State put swimmers in all five A-Final events following Friday morning's prelims, while
Jecza Lopez topped the field in the 3M Springboard Diving prelims to close out the early session inside the Waukee CSD Natatorium.
The Sycamores put 11 athletes in the A-Finals and 19 (prior to dive) in the top 24 in their specific events heading into the evening session.
Raine Boles won a swim-off in the 100-yard Fly prelims after going 54.77 in her heat on Friday morning. Boles topped her opponent in the swim-off in 54.18 to claim the final spot in the A-Final leading four Sycamores advancing to Friday night's events.
Sophia Diaz and
Kaleigh Kelley both advanced to the B-Finals, while
Raz Harel claimed a spot in the C-Finals to highlight the Sycamores in the opening event of the day. Allie Barasch went 57.29 in setting a new personal-best in the event.
The Sycamores posted four inside the top eight in the 400-yard IM and five in the top 16 in a strong event on Friday morning.

Chloe Farro and
Peyton Heagy both advanced to the B-Finals after the morning session.
Rose Parsons set a new personal-best in the event in 1:53.51.
Both Sycamores that competed in the 100-yard Breaststroke advanced to the A-Finals as
Ali Pearson and
Alexa Szadorski finished fourth and sixth respectively in the prelims.
Sahara Visscher continued her strong freshman campaign finishing fourth overall in the 100-yard Backstroke field to advance to the evening's A-Finals.
Trista Bullock and
Kalli Agapios both made it in the B-Finals, while Harel was back in the C-Finals in the event after posting a time of 58.30.
Ella Moustgaard went 58.44, while
Kate Reeves (57.40) and
Olivia Diruzza (58.98) also took on the field.
Jecza Lopez topped the field in the 3M Diving prelims as the sophomore posted a six-dive score of 286.60 to advance to Saturday's A-Finals.
Lucia McDougall (217.55) and
Daniela Orta Castaneda (216.95) both advanced to the evening's consolation bracket.
Brenna Woodruff (221.25) and
Ella Taylor (197.60) rounded out the Sycamores in the field.
