NORMAL, Ill. - Indiana State women's golf begins its fall slate at the Redbird Invitational on September 8-9, hosted by Illinois State.
The Sycamores open the five-tournament fall season in Normal for the fifth time in six years. The two-day event features three rounds of golf, beginning with 36 holes on Sunday. The D.A. Weibring Golf Club is a 6,093-yard course with a par of 72. Indiana State tees off both days at 9:30 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
Head coach
Greg Towne rolls out his first lineup for the year, consisting of four returning Sycamores (Rosie DiNunzio,
Sophia Florek,
Briana LeMaire,
Yang Tai) and one new freshman (
Alana Gilbert).Â
LeMaire has experience with this course - third will be her third-straight season playing the course. LeMaire also was the top finisher for the Sycamores at the MVC Championships last spring, tying for 12th place.
Both Florek and Tai played in eight of the 10 tournaments for Indiana State in the spring. Florek's best round came in her last tournament of the season at the ISU Spring Invitational, while Tai finished in the top 30 at the MVC Championships.
