TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Director of Athletics Nathan Christensen announced the hiring of Seth Wickert as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations.
Wickert joins the Sycamores by way of stops at James Madison University, Northwestern University, and Western Illinois where he handled game operations, events, facilities, and equipment.
"We are excited to add Seth to our administrative team," Christensen said. "He brings a wealth of experience to Indiana State and will be a vital part of our success in a key role for us moving forward."

Wickert spent the previous two years working at James Madison University as the Director of Events & Game Operations. He provided leadership, supervision, and direction to the associate directors of events/game operations and events/facilities, while also overseeing the student staff and wage employees through recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation.
Over his time at JMU, he served as the primary event/game manager for football, volleyball, swimming & diving, tennis, and softball, while also working on bid submission and host planning for NCAA postseason events. He also coordinated gameday logistics at home venues.
Prior to his time at JMU, Wickert was the Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations at Northwestern University from August 2021 – June 2022. Over his year with the Wildcats, he managed the day-to-day operations, scheduling, and regular maintenance for multiple facilities including Ryan Fieldhouse, Walter Athletics Center, Pattern Gymnasium, Gleacher Golf Center, and Lakeside Fields. He also oversaw the daily facility operations and projects for football, golf, and fencing among his sport responsibilities.
Wickert served as the Director of Equipment Operations & Facilities at Western Illinois University from May 2018 – August 2021. He managed and coordinated the day-to-day operations of the WIU athletic facilities, while also serving as the on-site administrator for assigned athletic events. He also oversaw and supervised the equipment room operations.
Wickert graduated from Eureka College in May 2015 with his bachelor's degree in exercise science and added his master's degree in 2018 from Western Illinois in sport management.
