TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Blue Team rallied back after the break to win the final six events on Friday night on their way to topping the Gray Team, 161-119. The Blue Team snapped a two-year skid at the annual Blue-Gray Meet with the win at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
The Gray Team winners of the annual intrasquad meet in both 2022 and 2023 started the evening off strong winning the first two events, as well as five of six at one point in the meet on their way to taking a lead. Gray Team captains
Chloe Farro (50 & 100 Free) and
Olivia Diruzza (200 Back) claimed event wins during the stretch to highlight the midway point of the meet.
However,
Alexandria Cotter swung the momentum back to the Blue Team with a win in the 200-yard Breaststroke and added a victory in the 200-yard IM to spark the Sycamores' Blue Squad to six consecutive event wins. The winning streak was capped by the quartet of
Kaleigh Kelley,
Erin Cummins,
Sahara Visscher, and
Alexa Szadorski claiming the win in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay to claim Blue Team's first win since 2021.
Blue Team's win was highlighted by Cummins picking up wins in both the 200-yard Free and 500-yard Free, while Visscher (100 Back),
Daniela Orta Castaneda (3M Diving), Kelley (100 Fly), and
Lucia McDougall (1M Diving) claimed event wins in addition to Cotter's pair of triumphs in the pool.
Claire Parsons (1000 Free), Ali Pearson (100 Breast), and
Sophia Diaz (200 Fly) joined Farro and Diruzza as event winners for the Gray Team, while the quartet of
Trista Bullock, Pearson,
