TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball's
Emma Kaelin was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Kaelin recorded the best attacking weekend of her career during Indiana State's 2-1 showing at the Bluff City Showdown, finishing with 46 kills across three matches. She set a career high with 16 kills in the Sycamores' wins over both Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Lamar, with her 5.33 kills per set against Lamar also representing a career-best mark. Kaelin also added 14 kills against Memphis and had the most kills among any athlete in the four-team tournament field.
She also added a spark from the service line with three aces on the weekend, serving up two against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and one against Memphis. Kaelin also had a strong defensive weekend with 27 digs (2.45 per set) and five blocks (0.45 per set) in Indiana State's 11 sets played.
She collected her 20th career double-double against Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 16 kills and 10 digs and had eight or more digs against both Lamar and Memphis.
For her efforts, Kaelin was named to the Bluff City Showdown All-Tournament Team.
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
