Glanton named Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's basketball's Mya Glanton was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.

Glanton scored a career-high 30 points in the Hoops in the Heartland opening win over Southern Illinois, while adding 10 points and seven rebounds in the quarterfinal round against Drake. Glanton's 30-point performance helped propel ISU women's basketball to just their second postseason win since the 2014 and first since the 2022 Hoops in the Heartland tournament.

She shot better than 60 percent from the field during Indiana State's run at Hoops in the Heartland, including a career-high 30-point night in the Sycamores' first round win over the Salukis. She was 12-for-16 from the field against the Salukis, outscoring SIU on her own, 11-9, in the fourth quarter. Glanton also pulled down six rebounds for the Sycamores against Southern Illinois, including three offensive rebounds.

She added 10 points and seven rebounds in Indiana State's quarterfinal game over Drake. Glanton blocked one shot in both of Indiana State's conference tournament games, and she also added an assist and a steal in the quarterfinal game against Drake.

The award marked her second time receiving the weekly honor with the first coming back on November 27.

The Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2023-24 athletic season.
