TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's cross country's Emerson Fayman was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.

Fayman clocked a career-best performance to lead the Sycamores at the Joe Piane Invitational, crossing the line in 24:07.0 to card a Top 35 8k finish in the Blue Division race (invite section). His time was a two-second personal best, which also moved him to fourth in program history in the 5k.

Fayman's performance, one of two Top 20 program marks set by Indiana State men's runners last week, helped the Sycamores finish ahead of one regionally-ranked program in the Great Lakes in Central Michigan, along with a Power Four program in Miami (Fla.).

The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2026-27 athletic season.
