TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State Athletics Department announced its Second Pioneer Hall of Fame Class that will be enshrined in the Sycamore Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, February 5.
Announced once every five years, the six-person Pioneer Class features Bob Clements (Baseball/Football), Charles "Howard" Dardeen (Men's Basketball), Dr. Parker Eaton (Baseball), Charlie Fouty (Men's Basketball), James Warren Rose (Men's Basketball), and Cheryl Endicott Weatherman (Women's Basketball).
The six-person Pioneer Class will join Major Clay (Track & Field), Derrick Franklin (Football), Kourtney Mennen (Women's Basketball), Erin Reese (Track & Field), Greggmar Swift (Track & Field), and Bob Zeihen (Baseball) and will be formally inducted into the Sycamore Hall of Fame on Friday, February 5, in the Sycamore Banquet Center starting at 6 p.m.

Bob Clements – Baseball (1961-62), Football (1959-62)

- Career record 107-73-3
- Undefeated team 1973
- Indiana Football Hall of Fame (1988)

- 10-time County Champion
- Region 6 Coach of the Year (1978)
- Assistant Coach in North-South All-Star game (1978)
- Played on Babe Ruth World Series Champion team (1955)

Charles "Howard" Dardeen – Men's Basketball (1961-62)
- Two-time All-Indiana Collegiate Conference (1961, 1962)
- Season records: 4th free throws attempted (234 – 1962); Tied 5th free throws made (175 – 1962); 9th points scored (631 – 1962), field goals attempted (548 – 1962), rebounding average (10.8 – 1962); 12th in scoring average (21.0 – 1962); Tied 13th in field goals made (228 – 1962)
- Scored 1,074 career points
- Scored 38 points at Eastern Illinois (2-19-1962)
- Passed away May 5, 2025
Dr. Parker Eaton – Baseball (1958-59)
- Member of the NAIA Baseball World Series team (1958)
- All Indiana Collegiate Conference selection (1958)
- Led the Sycamores in Strikeouts (66 – 1958, 28 – 1959), wins (7- 1958), innings (70.1 – 1958, 56.2 – 1959), era (1.66 – 1958).
- Passed away July 9, 2021
Charlie Fouty – Men's Basketball (1946-47)
- Outstanding guard and defensive player at Terre Haute State (Normal High School)
- First Terre Haute player named to Indiana All-Star team
- Named All-Conference and All-Sectional
- Recruited by Glenn Curtis to play at Indiana State
- Was scheduled to be starting guard but quit team when he did not get along with new coach John Wooden.
- Considered one of the top officials in the United States, working numerous NCAA tournaments.
- Was referee for two IHSAA state finals (1964, 1965) and five NCAA Final Fours (1968, 1969, 1975, 1976, and 1977)
- Story goes that after one of Wooden's UCLA Bruins Final Four games, he went up to Fouty and said he was the best official he had ever seen.
- Inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.Bottom of Form

James Warren Ross – Men's Basketball (1957-61)
- Indiana State University's 1960s All-Decade basketball team
- First African-American from Terre Haute to play for Sycamores (Wiley High School)
- Second African-American from Vigo County to play varsity basketball at Indiana State. Cliff Phillips of Glenn was the first.
- Scored 24 points and dominated Evansville College in a 77-64 triumph over No. 1 ranked Aces.
- Tied school single game scoring mark (32) in an 87-86 overtime victory over Butler
- Led ISU into second round of 1959 NAIA tournament (upset loss to Georgia Southern 73-70)
- Missed junior season due to injury
- Passed away July 11, 2020
Cheryl Endicott Weatherman – Women's Basketball (1960-64)
- Started 4-years at Indiana State
- Selected to All-Decade Team
- Selected to All-Century Team
- Started girls' program at Franklin Community High School (1974)
- Coach Basketball and Volleyball (1974-1984)
- Teams won county, South Central Conference, sectional, regional & semi-state championships in both sports
- Indiana All-Star Assistant Coach (1979)
- Indiana All-Star Head Coach (1982)
- Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Orr for her work with the youth of Indiana
- Inducted into Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame (2005)
- Passed away March 17, 2011
