Cotter advances to 400 IM Finals; Smith takes on NCAA Field in 3M Diving

MULTIPLE LOCATIONSAlexandria Cotter became the third Sycamore of the weekend to advance to the CSCAA event finals, while Zoe Smith took on the field in the NCAA Zone C 3M Diving Qualifiers to highlight Indiana State's efforts in the pool on Friday.
 
Cotter advanced to the event finals in the 400 IM finishing 12th overall in the evening's events to join Ali Pearson (50 Breast) and Kaleigh Kelley (50 Fly) who have advanced to finals this weekend. Smith finished 28th overall in the 3M Diving event to close out her 2023-24 season.
 
Friday Evening Recap
Alexandria Cotter took two seconds off her prelim round time in the 400-yard IM to finish 12th overall in the field in the event's evening finals. The junior touched the wall in 4:19.15 to pace the Sycamores in their lone event individual final of the day.
 
The Sycamore 200-yard Medley Relay team of Cotter, Ali Pearson, Kaleigh Kelly, and Chloe Farro finished 15th overall in the field on Friday evening. The ISU quartet finished in 1:41.88 on the day.
 
Friday CSCAA Final Results  
NCAA Zone C Diving – 3M Results
Zoe Smith took on the field in the 3M springboard diving event at the NCAA Zone C Qualifiers on Friday morning. The Sycamore senior placed 28th overall in the field with a six-dive score of 243.05 to pace Indiana State at the end.

Smith posted three dives of 44-plus points on the day including a session-best 48.6 on her fifth dive, an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck. Her Forward 2 ½ Somersault Pike in the third round was the 19th-best dive of the round scoring 45.60 points.
 
Friday Morning Recap
Alexandria Cotter advanced to her first CSCAA event final finishing 14th overall in the 400-yard IM to highlight Indiana State's efforts in the morning session in Ocala, Fla. The junior touched the wall in 4:21.41 becoming the third Sycamore to advance to a final this weekend, while Dorotea Bukvic finished in 4:26.06 to place 32nd overall.
 
Kaleigh Kelley was 25th in the 100-yard Fly, while Claire Parsons (1:50.08, 22nd) and Erin Cummins (1:50.55, 28th) both posted top-30 finishes in the 200-yard Freestyle. Ali Pearson narrowly missed out on her second event final of the weekend placing 21st in the 100-yard Breaststroke in 1:02.53, while Alexa Szadorski was 33rd in 1:03.26.
