OXFORD, Ohio – Sahara Visscher and
Erin Cummins both took down Indiana State school records on Friday night, while
Alexandria Cotter took the individual title in the 400-yard IM to highlight the Sycamores' performances on the second day of the Miami Invitational at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
Visscher broke her own mark in the 100-yard Backstroke event for the second time over the weekend touching the wall in 54.65 marking just the second time a Sycamore has gone sub-55.0 in program history. Cummins has now posted school records in both the 200-yard Free and the 500-yard Free over the week after going 1:47.98 to break her own mark set at the MVC Championships last season.
Cotter followed up her 200-yard IM school-record performance on Thursday by taking the 400-yard event on Friday evening. The senior's time of 4:19.49 marked the second-fastest time in program history as she held off teammate
Gemma Dilks for the win.
The Sycamores closed out the night taking the title in the 800-yard Freestyle relay as the team of Visscher,
Claire Parsons,
Peyton Heagy, and Cummins touched the wall in 7:20.22 to claim the win over host Miami by nearly nine seconds (7:29.01).
Friday Evening Results
The Sycamores' B-Team was the top Indiana State finisher in the 200-yard Medley Relay as
Trista Bullock,
Alexa Szadorski,
Sophia Diaz, and
Chloe Farro touched the wall in 1:43.07 to claim fifth overall in the event.
Indiana State put three athletes in the A-Final of the 100-yard Fly with
Raine Boles continuing a strong 2024-25 season in finishing fourth overall in the field in 54.64.
Kaleigh Kelley was fifth in 54.94, while Diaz touched seventh with a time of 55.83.
Raz Harel (56.37) and
Haley Halsall (57.43) swam in the B-Final, while Allie Barasch (58.11) was second overall in the C-Final.
Cotter reprised her role at the top of the leaderboard in the 400-yard IM to take home the event win in 4:19.49. Dilks was second overall in 4:20.01 as the Sycamore duo repeated their prelim standings on the podium.
Dorotea Bukvic was fifth in the A-Final in 4:26.73.
Ella Moustgaard took fourth overall in the B-Final in 4:36.53.
Erin Cummins set her second individual school mark of the weekend as the sophomore finished second overall in the field with a time of 1:47.98. A Sycamore trio of
Claire Parsons (1:49.30), Chloe Faro (1:50.29), and
Maria Saldana Riebeling (1:50.85) finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the event A-Final.
Peyton Heagy won the B-Final as the junior touched the wall in 1:51.11 to take the event by a full second.
Rose Parsons was fifth in the B-Final with a time of 1:54.47.
Ali Pearson and Kelley finished second and fourth respectively in the A-Final of the 100-yard Breaststroke. Pearson touched in 1:02.33, while Kelley was less than a second back in 1:03.18.
Alexa Szadorski rebounded from the morning session to win the B-Final in 1:03.81.
Visscher broke the 100-yard Backstroke mark for the second time this weekend as the freshman finished third overall in the field in 54.65. She topped her previous mark of 54.98 set yesterday afternoon in the 400-yard Medley Relay.

Kalli Agapios (57.36), Moustgaard (58.13),
Olivia Diruzza (58.15), Bullock (58.17), and
Raz Harel (59.20) took the top six spots in the C-Final.
The Sycamores closed out the swimming events on the day finishing first and third overall in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Visscher,
Claire Parsons, Heagy, and Cummins took the win by nearly nine full seconds with a time of 7:20.22 over second-place Miami (7:29.01). The B-Team of Dilks, Riebeling, Bullock, and Halsall finished in 7:31.65.
Lucia McDougall led the Sycamores in the 1M Diving consolation bracket as the freshman finished seventh overall with a six-dive score of 192.50.
Daniela Orta Castaneda was eighth overall in the field with a score of 185.00.

Raine Boles was first to the wall for Indiana State in the 100-yard Fly prelims as the junior touched in 55.09 to take fourth place in the field ahead of teammate
Kaleigh Kelley (55.22).
Sophia Diaz finished seventh in 55.80, while
Raz Harel (56.61) and
Haley Halsall (57.19) both were in the Top 15. Allie Barasch finished up the group 18th overall in 57.49.
Alexandria Cotter led the field with a season-best 4:21.57 in the 400-yard IM to claim the prelim win on Friday morning.
Gemma Dilks finished second in the field in 4:24.58, while
Dorotea Bukvic was fifth in 4:29.65.
Ella Moustgaard also posted a Top 10 result touching in 4:34.35.
Erin Cummins led four Sycamores in the Top 8 in the field in the 200-yard Free as the sophomore took the event in 1:48.59.
Claire Parsons was fourth in 1:49.65, while
Chloe Farro (1:51.57) and
Maria Saldana Riebeling (1:52.16) also finished in the A-Final grouping for the evening's finals.
Peyton Heagy was 10th overall in 1:52.82, with
Rose Parsons (1:54.60) and Ash Saple (2:03.78) rounding out the group.
Ali Pearson continued the Indiana State winning ways in the prelims touching the wall first in the 100-yard Breaststroke in 1:02.11. Kelley was sixth overall in the field in 1:03.31, while
Alexa Szadorski overcame losing her goggles midway through the race to post a 1:05.52 to finish 14th.
Sahara Visscher paced the Sycamores in the 100-yard Backstroke as the freshman finished sixth overall in 55.59.

Kalli Agapios (58.74), and Allie Barasch (59.81) all finished inside the Top 25 in the event.
Daniela Orta Castaneda and Luica McDougall both advanced to the 1M Diving consolation bracket following strong performances in Friday's early prelims. Orta Castaneda was 14th overall in 198.70, while McDougall was 16th with a six-dive score of 179.95.
Ella Taylor was 22nd in the field with a score of 165.40, while
Brenna Woodruff wrapped up the group 26th overall with a score of 115.65.
