D1Baseball.com – Indiana State continues to garner national acclaim as the Sycamores were ranked among NCAA Division I baseball's top programs over the last five years by D1Baseball.
The Sycamores clocked in at No. 47 in the annual rankings continuing a climb that started after being ranked No. 94 back in 2015. Indiana State's latest ranking prior to 2024 came in at No. 60 in 2022.
Indiana State baseball is coming off its second consecutive regional appearance and fourth in the last five completed seasons after posting a 44-15 overall record, 22-5 in Missouri Valley play. The Sycamores have won 19 consecutive MVC baseball weekend series dating back to the end of the 2022 seasons and have won back-to-back MVC regular season titles.
The Sycamores advanced to the MVC Baseball conference tournament title game for the second consecutive season in 2024 and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Lexington Regional. Indiana State advanced to the Lexington Regional title game, but fell short of earning their second consecutive bid to the NCAA Super Regional round.
Indiana State embarks on a new era under head coach Tracy Archuleta this season. Fans will have their first opportunity to preview of the 2025 team on Saturday, October 19, as the team hosts the Fifth Annual #CUREFA Game sponsored by the West Side Nut Club. Indiana State will host Morehead State in an exhibition game at Bob Warn Field set for 1 p.m. ET with proceeds from the game going to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA). About the D1Baseball Top 100 Rankings
The organization is unveiling its Top 100 list as it continues an exercise started back in the fall of 2015. The rankings reflect an attempt to assess the overall health of each program in the current era and is updated every two years with the latest coming back in 2022.
Programs earn points for making regionals, winning regionals, reaching the College World Series, and winning the national championship in the last five (completed) seasons, and a fewer amount of points for success between six and 10 years ago.
