Sycamores announce seventh annual CUREFA Game as part of fall baseball schedule

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Head Coach Tracy Archuleta and Indiana State baseball announced the seventh annual CUREFA Game, highlighting the 2026 fall schedule as the Sycamores continue their practice slate.

Indiana State will host Rose-Hulman in the annual CUREFA game scheduled for Sunday, October 18, with proceeds from the game going to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

The 1 p.m. exhibition game between the Sycamores and Engineers will benefit the fight against Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), a degenerative neuro-muscular disorder that affects one in 50,000 people in the United States.

"Playing Rose-Hulman in our CureFA game is about much more than baseball," Archuleta said. "It gives us a great opportunity to bring two outstanding local programs together and, most importantly, get our incredible community involved in a cause that means so much to our family and so many others affected by Friedreich's Ataxia. We're excited to have Rose-Hulman be a part of this event and to bring our fans, families, alumni and the entire Wabash Valley community together to raise awareness and support the search for a cure. It's going to be a great day at Bob Warn Field, and we're proud to be able to use our game to make a difference."

The Friedreich's's Ataxia Research Alliance is supporting research that will improve the quality and length of life for those diagnosed with FA and will lead to treatments that eliminate its symptoms. More information about FA can be found at CureFA.org.

Coach Archuleta's son, Sam, is living with this disorder which provides the origin of the game and gives the charitable organization a personal connection to Coach Archuleta and the Sycamores.

The annual game highlights a fall slate which will see the Sycamores in competition four times against opposing teams, while also holding their annual Fall World Series classic.
