Sycamores sweep the field in 205-52 win over Eastern Illinois

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State swept all 14 swimming events on Friday evening inside the Vigo County Aquatic Center as the Sycamores topped visiting Eastern Illinois, 205-52, in dual meet competition.
 
Kaleigh Kelley (100 Breast, 100 Fly), Claire Parsons (200 Free, 500 Free), and Dorotea Bukvic (200 Breast, 200 IM) all claimed multiple individual wins in Indiana State's final home meet of the calendar year. Gemma Dilks (1000 Free), Sahara Visscher (100 Back), Alexandria Cotter (200 Fly), Alexa Szadorski (50 Free), Chloe Farro (100 Free), and Kalli Agapios (200 Back) added individual wins, and the Sycamores swept both relay events to cap the evening's action inside the pool.
 
The Sycamores started off the event taking the top three spots in the 200-yard Medley Relay as Visscher, Szadorski, Raine Boles, and Kelley finished in 1:44.87 to claim the first event win. The team of Agapios, Bukvic, Raz Harel, and Allie Barasch finished second in 1:48.45, while Olivia Diruzza, Cotter, Sophia Diaz, and Peyton Heagy finished third in 1:49.05.
 
Indiana State claimed the top three spots in the 1000-yard Freestyle event with Dilks taking home her first individual win after touching the wall in 10:22.78 ahead of teammate Erin Cummins (10:23.04). Haley Halsall finished third overall in 10:31.87.
 
Claire Parsons took her first event win of the evening in the 200-yard Freestyle out-touching Farro (1:52.70 – 1:53.80) to claim the victory. Maria Saldana Riebeling finished third in 1:55.86, while Trista Bullock (1:57.92), Diaz (1:58.19), and Rose Parsons (1:57.93) also took on the field in the event.
 
Indiana State claimed the top five positions in the 100-yard Backstroke highlighted by Visscher's time of 56.98 to claim the event win. Ella Moustgaard was second in 58.48, while Harel finished third overall in 1:00.11. Barasch (1:00.16) and Diruzza (1:01.19) narrowly missed out on scoring for the Sycamores in the event.
 
Kelley was first to the wall in the 100-yard Breaststroke as the sophomore finished with a time of 1:04.30 to claim the win.
 
Cotter (2:05.30) and Boles (2:11.30) took home the top two positions in the 200-yard Butterfly for the Sycamores.
 
Indiana State claimed the top five positions in the 50-yard Freestyle ahead of the first break in the action on the day. Szadorski took the win in 24.15, while Agapios (24.37) and Ali Pearson (24.64) finished second and third overall. Heagy (24.88) and Kate Reeves (25.92) also finished among the leaders for the Sycamores.
 
The Indiana State divers opened up their evening with an exhibition on the 3-Meter Springboard. Daniela Orta Castaneda led the way with a score of 245.47 to finish ahead of Lucia McDougall (214.42) and Ella Taylor (205.50). Brenna Woodruff (185.93) and Angelina Damiano (156.75) added top five finishes.
 
Farro was first to the wall in a highly-contested 100-yard Freestyle swim as the Sycamore senior took the win in 51.20 ahead of Szadorski (52.03). Visscher was third in 52.12, while Cummins (52.63) and Heagy (54.06) also posted top five results. Riebeling (53.30) and Barasch (54.47) also took on the field for the Sycamores overall.
 
Agapios (2:04.96), Cotter (2:05.78), Reeves (2:10.51), and Bullock (2:14.98) took the top four positions in the field in the 200-yard Backstroke.
 
Bukvic was first to the wall and led the way for Indiana State in the 200-yard Breaststroke in 2:21.74.
 
Claire Parsons held off Dilks and Rose Parsons to claim the event win in the 500-yard Freestyle. Claire touched the wall in 5:03.34 ahead of Dilks (5:05.20) and Rose (5:12.46) for her second victory of the meet.
 
Indiana State claimed the top five positions in the 100-yard Butterfly led by Kelley's 56.19 to take her second win of the meet. Cummins finished in 58.15 in second, while Pearson (58.57) was third overall. Halsall (58.97) also went sub-1:00 to claim fourth, while Boles wrapped up the group in fifth in 1:01.56.
 
Orta Castaneda took the exhibition win in the 1-Meter Springboard with a score of 228.82 to hold off Taylor (218.02). McDougall was third overall in 198.15, while Woodruff (188.10) and Damiano (151.28) wrapped up the Sycamores on the diving board.
 
Bukvic (2:09.01) took her final individual win of the day in the 200-yard IM to lead six Sycamores in the field. Diaz (2:12.07) and Moustgaard (2:12.48) rounded out the podium, while Riebeling (2:14.29), Harel (2:14.60), and Diruzza (2:19.94) were also among the leaders in the water.
 
The Sycamores wrapped up the evening taking the top four spots in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. The top team of Szadorski, Farro, Kelley, and Agapios finished in 1:34.66, while Cummins, Claire Parsons, Pearson, and Cotter finished in 1:38.46. Visscher, Boles, Barasch, and Heagy were third overall in 1:39.18, with Reeves, Dilks, Halsall, and Rose Parsons rounding out the Sycamores in 1:43.41.
