TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's swimming and diving's
Chloe Farro was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Farro swept the 50- and 100-yard Freestyle events on both Friday and Saturday in leading the Sycamores to a pair of dual meet wins over Eastern Michigan and Lindenwood this weekend. The Savaneta, Aruba native also swam anchor in the team's 200-yard Medley Relay and 400-yard Freestyle relay wins over EMU, while taking the first leg in the 200-yard Freestyle relay win over Lindenwood.
Farro made her individual mark on the opening meet against Eastern Michigan at the Vigo County Aquatic Center as the junior topped the field in the 50-yard Freestyle winning with a time of 23.65 over teammate
Kaleigh Kelley (24.14). She followed up winning the 100-yard event by nearly a full second with a time of 51.20.
Farro swept the 50- and the 100-yard Freestyle events in the win over Lindenwood and nearly pulled out the 200-yard win as well to highlight her weekend. Farro finished second overall in the 200-yard event to open the Saturday competition with a time of 1:55.89. She followed up with individual wins in the 50 (23.74) and 100 (51.89) to complete the sweep in less than 24 hous.
The Sycamores topped Eastern Michigan (204-96) and Lindenwood (226-73)
The Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2023-24 athletic season.
