ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Southern Illinois University will serve as host for the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship for the third time in school history and first time since 1986, from May 25-29 in Carbondale, Illinois. The 2021 event will take place at Itchy Jones Stadium, which serves as the home field for the Salukis.
 
DBU earned its third MVC regular-season title, including second-straight, as the Patriots claimed the tournament's top seed with an 18-6 MVC record.
 
Defending tournament champion Indiana State (14-10 MVC) is the tournament's No. 2 seed entering next week's championship.
 
No. 3 Bradley (12-10 MVC) will face host No. 4 Southern Illinois (15-13 MVC) in Wednesday's final game slated for 7 PM (CT).
 
No. 5 Missouri State (11-13 MVC) will face No. 8 Valparaiso (9-19 MVC) at 7 PM (CT) on Tuesday in a single elimination contest.
 
No. 6 Illinois State (12-15 MVC) will open the tournament against No. 7 Evansville (11-16 MVC) at 2:30 PM (CT) Tuesday in a single elimination game.

Championship Format
The 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship will welcome all eight league members to compete for the Valley's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. This year's format will give the top four seeds based on regular season finish a buy into Day 2 of the tournament, while seeds five through eight will play in a single elimination round on Tuesday, May 25.  The two winners on Tuesday will join the top four seeds in a six-team double elimination format beginning on Wednesday, May 26.
 
Games will be played at 2:30 pm and 7 pm on Tuesday, 10 am, 2:30 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with the championship game being played on Saturday at 2:30 pm with an "If Necessary" game at 7 pm.
