TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State Swimming and Diving program is set to open the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Thursday in Carbondale. Southern Illinois University will host the championship at Shea Natatorium.

The Sycamores have competed at the MVC Championship four times since the program began, earning a seventh-place finish with 148 points in 2016-17, a fourth-place finish in 2017-18 with 477 points, a program-best third place finish in 2018-19 with a third-place finish and 511.5 points.
At last year's championships, ISU tied their best finish claiming third place with 539.50 points. Three Sycamore swimmers earning All-MVC honors.

Sycamore Standouts
- Indiana State returns three First-Team All-MVC honorees in Marlene Pavlu Lewin, Kaimi Matsumoto and Sarah Moreau. Pavlu Lewin took second in the 200-backstroke, Matsumoto claimed third in the 100-butterfly, while Moreau took third in the 200-butterfly.
- ISU returns seven All-MVC Honorable Mentions honorees in Molly Fogarty, Marni Gray, Anna Maria Nasiou, Colleen O'Connor, Andrea Putrimas, Ashleigh Sinks and Emily Webb.
- Indiana State holds two top two times in the conference. Marni Gray owns second in the 100-butterfly with a time of 55.56, while Pavlu Lewin ranks first in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:58.65.
- The Sycamores were picked to finish in front of Illinois State, UNI, Evansville, Little Rock and Valparaiso.
