TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sycamore swimming and diving managed to split with Xavier and Missouri State in a double-dual meet inside the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Saturday morning.

Indiana State picked up the victory over Xavier, 175-62, while falling to Missouri Valley Conference foe Missouri State, 144-96.

Surging Sycamores
It was a strong day in the pool for
Kaimi Matsumoto who got her day started with an impressive victory in the 200-individual medley. The sophomore swam to the third-fastest time in Sycamore history en route to the win, clocking a time of 2:07.55.

Matsumoto's day didn't end following her opening event as she followed her 200 IM performance with a runner-up finish in the 100-freestyle and time of 52.50. She was also a member of the second place 400-freestyle relay squad, along with
Emily Webb,
Marissa Kozel and
Marlene Pavlu Lewin, the recorded a time of 3:27.21. The relay's time of 3:27.21 is good enough for third all-time in the ISU record book.

In addition to being a member of the runner-up 400-freestyle relay squad, Pavlu Lewin had a strong day in the pool individually. The senior from Sweden claimed victory in the 200-backstroke, racing to a time of 1:58.65 for gold. She also picked up a second place finish in the 50-freestyle, ending at 23.94.

Earning the first victory in the pool for the Trees on Sunday was
Sarah Moreau in the 200-freestyle. The sophomore managed to get to the wall just ahead of Missouri State's Anna Luca, clocking a time of 1:52.63.

On the other end of the pool,
Bailey Betzer earned the top finish for the Sycamore divers, taking fourth in the three-meter dive with a score of 235.65 while
Sarah Montgomery took fifth in the one-meter dive at 215.10.
