TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Head Indiana State soccer coach
Julie Hanley announced the signing of two more student-athletes, Mackenzie Kent and Olivia Lovell, to the recruiting class of 2021, joining five others that signed at the early signing period in November.
"We are so excited to add Mackenzie and Olivia to our 2021 recruiting class," said Hanley. "They both have played at a high level throughout their prep careers and will come in ready to compete right away."
Mackenzie Kent – Aurora, Ind. (St. Henry District HS) – Forward
Four-year letterwinner for the Crusaders… Member of a the 2019 State Championship team, also winning district championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019… Two-time captain that was Second Team All-Kentucky in her final varsity season… Had three goals and assisted two others in the 2019 Kentucky State Championship game… Set St. Henry District high school's single-season goal record with 37 in 2019… Played club for Indiana Fire Juniors and Tempest FC Revolution… Also a member of the Student Council, School Improvement Team, Spanish Honor Society, Honor Roll, and a three-time National Spanish Exam medalist… Also lettered in track and swimming.
"We love getting an Indiana kid in the class. Mackenzie plays for one of the top clubs in the country and the environment she's coming from will prepare her for the college game. She plays with a ton of grit, and has a lot of potential. I am excited to watch her grow and develop over the course of her collegiate career." – Coach Hanley
Olivia Lovell – Waukee, Iowa (Waukee HS), Forward
Played four varsity seasons for Waukee, leading the team to a Iowa State Runner-Up finish… Was a two-time team MVP for Warriors… Member of the Iowa Olympic Development Team five years and won five gold medals at the Iowa Games… Not only excels on the field, but is also a strong student, earning All-Academic for four years as well as being a member of the National Honors Society… Also lettered in volleyball, track, and swimming.
"Olivia is a great kid that comes from a great family. She is mature beyond her years and will be someone we rely on from day one both on and off the field. We have three kids from her club team (Iowa Rush) already and they're all great people who want to be challenged. I'm thrilled Olivia is a Sycamore and a part of our family." – Coach Hanley
