TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State women's soccer program signed five student-athletes to NLI's in the first two days of the national signing day period head coach
Julie Hanley announced. Nora Henderson, Alexa Mackey, Caitlin Mullen, Tara Tesmond and Chloe Tesny will join the Sycamores as freshmen for the 2021-22 season.
"As a staff, we are excited about the potential of this class and feel that they will compete and impact our program from the start," Hanley said. "The group has played on and competed against some of the top clubs in the country which has prepared them for the next level."
Hanley continued: "I believe that this class is full of high character, selfless people that I know will represent Indiana State University in a first-class manner. Not only does this group excel on the playing field, but they are driven and prepared to succeed academically. We couldn't be more excited to welcome them and their families to the Sycamore Soccer program."
Nora Henderson - Brentwood, Tenn. (Ravenwood HS), Midfielder
A four-year letterwinner at Ravenwood High School under head coach Jessica Manuni ... Helped the Raptors to Tennessee state championships in both 2019 & 2020 ... A two-time district champion ... Named to the All-District Team and a Tournament Player to Watch ... Member of Tennessee SC ECNL under head coach Eric Bossman ... Won multiple Tennessee state championships as well as a Regional Championship ... Member of Tennessee ODP.
Alexa Mackey - Brunswick, Ohio (Brunswick HS), Midfielder
Has been a part of the Brunswick High School soccer team for four seasons under head coach Scott Ward ... Played club soccer for Cleveland Futbol under head coach Dave Sidloski ... Club team has earned two Ohio State Cup titles, a Midwest Regional Championship and was a National Championship runner up ... Earned First Team All-Conference, All-Gazette and All-Ohio Academic accolades during her senior season ... Tied the school record for goals in a game with five ... Finished the season with 16 goals and seven assists.
Caitlin Mullen - Grand Rapids, Mich. (Catholic Central HS), Midfielder
Has spent three seasons with the Catholic Central High School soccer team ... Helped the Cougars to a Michigan state semifinal appearance ... A two-time First Team All-State award winner ... Named All-Conference two times ... Helped Midwest United to a pair of state championship appearances ... Also lettered in basketball.
Tara Tesmond - Chicago, Ill. (Neuqua Valley HS), Goalkeeper
A three-year letterwinner at Neuqua Valley High School under head coach Joe Moreau ... Named Honorable Mention All-Conference during her sophomore season and All-State by Chicagoland Soccer her junior season ... Plays for Eclipse Select Soccer Club and Team Chicago ... Team was ranked fourth nationally in 2019-20 ... A part of the Illinois ODP state team from 2015-17.
Chloe Tesny - Medina, Ohio (Medina HS), Midfielder
A multisport student-athlete at Medina High School ... A four-year letterwinner of the soccer program under head coach Brad Wojnarowsky ... Helped the Battling Bees to a 2018 District Championship and a 2019 Final Four appearance ... Named Honorable Mention All-Conference ... Ranked 22nd for assists in Medina history ... Also participated in track at Medina ... Played club soccer for Cleveland Futbol under head coach Dave Sidloski ...
