HOLLISTER, Mo. – Indiana State sits back in the pack through the first day of the Ozarks National Invitational as the Sycamores sit 15th overall in the field in their final tournament of the fall.
 
Indiana State (+43) carded a 331 on the opening day of the tournament held at the Ozarks National Golf Club as the Sycamores took on the field for the fourth time in the 2021 season. The Sycamores sit four strokes back of Ball State (+39) for 14th as they will look to bounce back on one the premier public golf courses in the U.S.
 
Madison Branum (+9) was the Sycamores' top finisher on the course on Monday afternoon. The junior turned in a team-best three birdies on the day as the Lexington, S.C. native on her way to carding an 81 on the first day. Branum went under-par on the 13th, 18th, and second holes to sit tied for 65th in the field through the opening round.
 
Chelsea Morrow (+10) birdied the 18th hole to highlight her first round of the tournament. The Fishers, Ind. native posted a first-round 82 to finish tied for 70th overall on the opening day.
 
Lauren Green (+11) turned in a pair of birdies on the eighth and 15th holes to finish with a first-round 83. The Merseyside, England native sits tied for 73rd overall following the first day of the three-day tournament.
 
Kristen Hobbs (+13) also added a pair of birdies on the 12th and 18th holes to sit tied for 76th, while Iyoun Chew (+14) rounded out the group sitting tied for 79th in the field after her first round 86.
