Saturday's matchup with the Saluki's is the fourth time in school history and the Saluki's hold the deficit over the Sycamores, 2-1.
Christensen's Corner
"We have another challenging dual meet ahead of us tomorrow," head coach
Josh Christensen said. "Southern Illinois is a strong program, with a lot of history at the top of the conference. They are a well-coached team with a lot of high caliber athletes. This will be another opportunity to raise our game and compete, all with the goal of continuing to improve and sharpen our racing skills as we prepare for the conference championships next month."
Sycamore Leaflets
- The Sycamores enter the weekend with a record of 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Valley.
- The blue and white defeated Toledo and fell to Ball State last weekend.
- Freshman Andrea Putrimas claimed three victories over the weekend, two of them in the 500 freestyle and one in the 1000 freestyle. Putrimas posted a time of 5:02.80 in the 500 freestyle vs Toledo.
- Putrimas claimed two victories vs Ball State posting a time of 10:27.84 in the 1000 freestyle and a time of 5:09.83 in the 500 freestyle.
- Freshman Sarah Moreau claimed two victories vs Ball State posting a time of 2:06.47 in the 200 butterfly while posting a time of 57.95 in the 100 butterfly.
- Events are slated to begin at 2 pm et in Carbondale, Ill at the Shea Natatorium.
