COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Indiana State Swimming & Diving program will head west to Missouri to compete at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship this week, hosted by Missouri State.

Missouri State will host the championship at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, with events slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday with the 200-yard medley relay.

Indiana State at the Championships
The Trees have competed at the Valley Championship twice since the creation of the program, earning a seventh place finish in 2016-17 with 148 points and then improving to a fourth place finish in 2017-18 with 477 points.

In the MVC Pre-Championship poll, the Sycamores were picked to finish third in the conference behind only Missouri State and Northern Iowa.

- Indiana State returns one First-Team All-MVC honoree in Marlene Pavlu Lewin, who took second last season in the 200-yard backstroke.
- ISU returns six All-MVC Honorable Mention honorees in Cierra Campbell, Kendall Hansen, Vivian Kritikou, Alex Malmborg, Martina Marks and Megan Schade.
- Marlene Pavlu Lewin is the top-rated Sycamore in the conference currently, owning second place in the MVC standing in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.37.
- Last season, the 400-yard freestyle relay team, 800-yard freestyle relay team and 200-yard medley relay team all placed third at the Valley Championship.
- The Sycamores were picked to finish in front of Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Little Rock, Evansville and Valparaiso.
