TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Two Sycamore freshman dominated on day one of the Sycamore Invite against The University of Indianapolis and Missouri State at the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Surging Sycamores
Freshmen
Rhiannon Wozny and
Andrea Putrimas found their way into the record book in the 500-yard freestyle. Putrimas claimed second place with a time of 4:56.78 putting her second overall in school history. Wozny wasn't too far behind her taking third with a time of 4:58.29 putting her third overall in school history.
The blue and white took third in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.25, the team consisted of
Kendall Hansen,
Kaimi Matsumoto, Ashliegh Sinks, and
Alex Malmborg.
The Trees claimed second place in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time 7:26.99 the team consisted of
Sarah Moreau,
Marlene Pavlu Lewin,
Cierra Campbell, and
Andrea Putrimas. Another group of sycamores claimed third with a time of 7:42.79. That team consisted of
Rachel Sanqunetti,
Rhiannon Wozny,
Tori Johns, and
Madison Brand.
Sycamore diver
Britney Meienburg tied for fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 197.95.
